The paper and card Maquettes in this section are an exploration of the architectural qualities of exponentially growing shell structures, following a logical progression of development in complex forms.
In considering the development of shells, with reference to D'Arcy Thompson's study "On Growth and Form" published in 1917, we see that the same set of instructions for growth can produce an infinite variety of structures, depending on the angle and rate of growth.
