Fibonacci spiral in Islamic illumination

A series of works on paper using classic Islamic book-illumination techniques with historic mineral colours and gold.  The paintings in this section were executed between 2009 and 2012, either as private commissions or exhibition pieces.

The works are an exploration of new synergies between 15th century Persian Illumination, Number Theory, and 20th century Fractal Concepts.

These works are relateable to many of the works in Drawings.
